Deborah Rath Howell has been traveling extensively with radio listeners of all stripes since 1986, hosting events and broadcasting live around the world. Deborah’s been a staple on the airwaves on legendary stations in New York (Hot 97, Kiss FM and CD101.9) and L.A. (Power 106, Movin’ 93.9 and currently 94.7 The Wave), and has hosted music and cultural shows on the Tokyo airwaves since 1991, even though she
doesn’t have a clue how to speak Japanese.
Her syndicated work includes national shows for Westwood One, ABC TV, Polygram TV and many more. Ms. Rath Howell graduated with honors from Northwestern University, and now lives in Malibu with her husband and stepson, who are both avid travelers.
When not on the radio, Deborah is a “secret shopper” for Coyle Hospitality; stealthily and blissfully evaluating the cuisine and service or lack thereof offered at upscale hotels, resorts and spas. (Beware the Fork of Rath!) In 2006, she was tapped by the luxury home exchange company Trade To Travel to be its Global Correspondent; visiting its various homes and villas around the world (yawn) and participating in local cultures, customs
and cuisines along the way.
Ms. Rath Howell is an Advisory Board Member and Writer for Boutique Hotels of the World, launching in the winter of 2008, and is the voice behind all of picky Chef Daniel
Boulud’s restaurants worldwide—and is hardly snobby about it at all.
Deborah adores golf, squash, tennis, water and snow skiing, Pilates, ping pong and parasailing, and is most gleeful when in an aisle seat on a plane; squash racquet, thesaurus and microphone in hand; heading for points east or west to find the flaming-est
chili or creamiest polenta ever. She is delighted to be the newest member of the Next
Trip Radio Team.
